Virginia G. Lang Age 88, of Northville, formerly of Farmington Hills and Traverse City, passed away May 19, 2013. She was married to Harry O. Lang, Jr. for 65 years until his death in 2012. She is survived by her children Terry (Katherine), Linda McCarthy, Laurel (Robert) Hern, Holly Lang and Heidi (Thomas) Brown; her grandchildren Terry, Jr., Leslie (Rylan), Nicholas, Kayla, Amara, Kelly (Billy), Meghan, Ari (Theresa), Michael (Sarah), Ariel, Rachel, David, Stephanie, and Kyle and her great grandchildren Arianna, Tirzah, Anna, Dylan, and Hayden. She was born in Detroit Michigan to William Davis McCullough and Grace (Cohoon) McCullough. Her father was an industrialist involved in the beginnings of the Detroit auto industry who founded the Premier Cushion Spring Company. He is listed as a significant resident of the Boston-Edison Historic District. In addition to spending her early years living on Boston Blvd., Virginia lived on a horse and dairy farm in an area now called North Fairview Farms in Rochester Michigan. She also spent winters in Chandler Arizona residing in what is currently an historical building known as the McCullough-Price House. Virginia was a champion hunter/jumper horseback rider competing in events such as the Detroit Horse Show as a member of Bloomfield Open Hunt Club. Along with her husband, she spent many enjoyable summers at Crystal Lake and participating in activities at the Crystal Lake Yacht Club and Crystal Downs Country Club. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, and golfing; she loved to read; and she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother A family memorial service will be held at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
