Esther Louise Smith

Esther L. Smith Age 95, passed away May 19, 2013, in Novi, Michigan, formerly of Columbus, Ohio. She was born January 29, 1918 in Columbus, Ohio; daughter of Leander and Myra (nee Walcutt) Neff. She was united in marriage to Elton Brownfield Smith and they spent many loving years together until his death in 2000. Esther, a homemaker, was a devoted mother and grandmother. She traveled extensively throughout the United States and the world; visiting places like China, Europe, and Alaska. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. She is survived by her loving son, Russell (Lena) Smith; her grandchildren, Greg (Lynnae) Smith, Michelle (Chris) Santilli, and Jennifer Smith; and her great grandson, Wyatt Allen Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; 2 sisters, one of which was her identical twin; and 3 brothers. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 24, 2013 at 8 p.m. There will be a time of gathering from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. A prayer service will be held Saturday 2 p.m. at Smith Nature Park, located near the Northwest corner of Fishinger and Kenney, just West of the Church of Christ, in Upper Arlington, OH.
