Edmund J. Walsh A longtime resident of Northville, Michigan, passed away on May 24, 2013 at the age of 73. He was born August 14, 1939 in Boston, Massachusetts; son of George and Mary (Clasby) Walsh. Eddie proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. After serving 4 years with the Marines, while working in a small town, he was offered a position by Keith Hefner to work for the Playboy Club. He was a Playboy Club promoter and event planner. With this job he opened many of the Playboy Clubs, including the club in Detroit. It was in Detroit where he met the mother of his children, Judy who was working as a Bunny Mother. For many years Eddie owned and operated Acme Packaging in Dearborn and Canton; selling the prosperous company in 1987. He was a very adventurous entrepreneur and was involved in many different business ventures throughout his life. Since 1995 Eddie wintered in Fort Meyers, Florida with his cherished companion Gail Osburn; they shared an exciting life together until her death in 2008. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards with his friends. He also loved to entertain and had a gregarious personality which afforded him lots of attention from the ladies. Eddie is survived by his sons, Ed (Rachel) Walsh, Jr. and Danny (Leah) Walsh; and his grandchildren, Annie, Mike, Sophie, Reagan, Jackson, Jameson, and Riley. He is also survived by many loving family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his companion Gail Osburn, and his sister Jean Fenney. A wake will be held Friday, June 28, 2013 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Genitti's Restaurant, 108 East Main Street, Northville.
