Ruth Francis Maugle Crotty

Ruth F. Maugle Crotty Age 95, of Northville, a former longtime resident of Reading, Ohio and the Cincinnati, Ohio area, passed away May 25, 2013. She was born July 31, 1917 in Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter of Cleophus "Clay" and Victoria (Blanken) Bothe. Along with her first husband Dallas Maugle, she owned and operated Maugle Furniture and Appliance Company in Reading, Ohio. After Dallas passed away in 1974 Ruth sold the business to one of her valued employees in 1996. She found love again and married Wayne Crotty on January 22, 1996; he preceded her in death in 2011. Ruth enjoyed golfing and traveling extensively. She was an extraordinary knitter and a wonderful cook, even though cooking was not one of her passions. She always kept a beautiful home and took incredible care of her children. Ruth was an excellent mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children Marcia (Thomas) Greiner and Dallas (Kathleen) Maugle; her grandchildren Jeffrey (Lisa) Greiner, Scott (Julie) Greiner, and Ryan Maugle; and her great grandchildren Matthew and Sarah. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charles Bothe, her first husband Dallas Maugle, and her husband Wayne Crotty. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 11am with visitation beginning at 10am at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard, Northville. A prayer service will be held Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11am in the chapel of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Road, Montgomery, Ohio 45249.
