Doris Arlene Nunn

Doris A. Nunn Age 65, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away June 1, 2013. She was born August 7, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Donald and Mary (Brill) Wolfe. Doris received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan in 1969; she began her career as a Physical Therapist just after graduation. In that same year she married the love of her life Stanley R. Nunn; they have celebrated over 43 years of marriage. Family and faith were the two most important elements in her life. She adored her grandchildren and loved being with family and friends either here in town, at her home in Crystal Lake, or in Colorado. She was an active member of Our Lady of Victory; she taught religious education for many years and enjoyed going to bible study. Doris was an avid sports enthusiast, a dedicated Red Wings follower, and the #1 fan of her soccer playing grandchildren. She enjoyed travelling; her most recent trip was to Poland where she was able to appreciate her genealogy research. Doris worked with many charitable organizations; she was active with Meals-On-Wheels and helped raise money for breast cancer research through the art of making bra purses. She was loving, positive, and had a great sense of humor. She is survived by her devoted husband Stanley R. Nunn; her loving children Jennifer (Jeff) Hamilton and Jason Nunn; her dear siblings Robert (Stella) Wolfe and Elizabeth (the late Nick) Ruffini; and her cherished grandchildren Julia Hamilton, Fiona Nunn, Josh Hamilton, and Piper Nunn. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 5 from 2-8pm with a prayer service at 7pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 6 at 11am with visitation beginning at 10am at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard, Northville.
