Jeanne Margaret Booth

March 11, 1928 — June 22, 2013

Jeanne Margaret Booth, age 85, of Northville passed away peacefully with her immediate family by her side on June 22, 2013. She was born March 11, 1928 in Toronto, Canada; daughter of John Walter Miller and Ethel (Stephen) Miller Myles. Following high school, Jeanne went to the Salvation Army Nursing School in Toronto to obtain her degree; she retired young to focus on her family. At the age of 21, she was united in marriage to John N. Booth on June 4, 1949. Jeanne and John spent many years raising their children in Oakville and later in Dearborn. In 1984 they moved to Mexico for a few years; then in 1988 moved to Venice, Florida for a tranquil retirement. During those years they spent summers at their cottage in Bayfield, Ontario. Jeanne learned to golf in Florida and truly enjoyed playing. Subsequently they returned to Michigan to be closer their children and grandchildren. Her husband John passed away in 2010 after 61 blissful years of marriage. Jeanne was an excellent cook who loved sharing her bran muffins and brownies with her grandchildren. She had an amazing sense of humor; always valued a great practical joke or a good April fool's joke. Jeanne was a devoted mother and grandmother; she entrusted high morals and values to her family. She is survived by her children John David (Lynne) Booth, Deborah J. (Timothy) Scallen, and Peter J. (Doris) Booth; her sister Marilyn (Ken) Benson; her sister-in-law Dorothy MacPherson; her grandchildren James (Fiona) Booth, John (Sherri) Booth, Kathleen (Dan) Pontone, Mary (Josh) VanHaitsma, Meghan (Eric) Welch, Hannah Booth, Gracie Booth, Olivia Booth, Joel Booth, and Luke Booth; and her great grandchildren Ainslie, Callum, Addison, Evelyn, Noah, and Timothy with 2 more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother Jack Miller. Jeanne's next and ongoing chapter is an eternity with her Savior and a blissful reunion with her beloved husband John. Her family looks forward to celebrating this life well lived at a memorial service held in July.
