Of Brighton, passed away unexpectedly July 24, 2013 at the age of 51. He was born October 22, 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio; son of Joseph and Mary Jean (Test) Leugers. Paul spent his childhood in Ohio. He was a proud alumni of St. Edward High School in Lakewood, OH where he attended prior to moving to Michigan and graduating from Brighton High School in 1980. Following high school he proudly served with the Navy Reserve. He was united in marriage to Christine Guenthardt on October 1, 1994 and they spent 18 loving years together. He was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church for many years. Paul was the best daddy ever; he adored spending time with his kids and family. An avid fisherman, one of his favorite places to be was at the family cottage in Lake Leelanau, MI. He enjoyed woodworking and could often be found relaxing with a good cigar and Grand Marnier. Paul, an organ donor, gave the gift of his kidneys and corneas, bringing his family comfort knowing that two other families are now rejoicing. Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Christine Leugers; his children, Meghan and Charlie; his mother, Mary Jean Leugers; his in-laws, Richard and Mary Ann Guenthardt; his siblings, Beth Leugers, Joe (Kim) Leugers, Jenny (Carl) Wurster, Katy (Jeff) Reich, and Mike Leugers; his brother-in-law, Mike (Jenny) Guenthardt; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and his nephew, Jamie Leugers. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Scripture Service at 7 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 711 Rickett Road, Brighton, MI 48116. Paul will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Brighton, where he will receive military honors for his service to our country. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial contributions to The Family of Paul Leugers.
