Mickey Diehl, age 81 of Commerce Twp., formerly of Northville, passed away September 8, 2013. He was born Angus Fredrick Diehl on July 13, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Lewis and Agnes (Thoms) Diehl and has had the nickname Mickey since birth. For the past 56 years he has worked at Wolverine Flexographic Manufacturing Co.; he purchased the company 6 years ago. He was united in marriage to his soul mate and best friend Jacqueline M. Reining on May 27, 2005. Mickey enjoyed reading and history. He was an avid sports fan; he enjoyed watching golf, baseball, and football. His favorite pastime was playing golf; he was a longtime member of Salem Hills and he always shot his age. Lots of golfers dream of a hole-in-one; Mickey had 3. He was very generous and caring; the word no was not in his vocabulary. He was very supportive with his children and grandchildren; he adored his family. He also supported the Wounded Warriors Project and Toys for Tots. Mickey is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Jackie; his sons, Michael (the late Lorraine) Diehl and Mark (Wendy) Diehl; his grandchildren, Wade (Heather) Quillin, Leah Diehl, and Aaron Diehl; and his great grandchildren Alex and Logan. He was excited when he learned the news about another great grandchild in a few months. He is also survived by his canine companion Bailey. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 11 from 1pm until 8pm with a Rosary at 7pm. The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 12 at 10:30am with visitation beginning at 9:30am at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville.
