Age 91, of Northville, formerly of Southfield, passed away September 14, 2013. She was born April 3, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan; daughter of Garnet and Mary (nee Humphrey) Eden. Marian was united in marriage to Richard J. Bloom; they were married for over 50 years until his death in 1997. She worked for the Southfield Sun as a journalist, running a neighborhood column; and also worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Her most treasured position was that of homemaker, she adored her family and loved taking care of them. Marian was a member of St. Michael's Parish in Southfield, where she served with the altar society. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In her younger years, she and her husband enjoyed dancing, especially square dancing. She was an avid reader and the cherished the memories she made travelling around the country. She is survived by her loving children, Nancy (Ken) Johnson, Robert (Sandy) Bloom, Richard (Connie) Bloom, Linda (Brian) Lewandowski, and Darlene Thompson; her grandchildren, Ken Johnson, Todd Johnson, Chelsea Thompson, Devon Thompson, Alexa Lewandowski, Tira Lewandowski, Kristina (Scott) Kovach, Jennifer Bloom, Robert Bloom, and Jessica (Scott Manis) Bloom Manis; and her great grandchildren, Alec Johnson, Megan Johnson, and Zackary Kovach. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 1 brother, and 1 sister. The visitation will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2013 from 10 a.m. until Noon with a funeral service at Noon at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. She will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield following the service.
