Dennis P. Horwatt

Age 67, of Northville, passed away on February 4, 2014. He was born June 10, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Peter and Anne (nee Beckes) Horwatt. Dennis was united in marriage to Marcy Peters on January 12, 1994; they had just celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. Dennis graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science. Following his graduation he travelled the world working with a travel incentive group. In the early 1970's, while living in New York City, he worked for Rodney Dangerfield at his nightclub in sales and marketing. Upon moving back to Michigan in the late 1970's, Dennis started a company called Detroit Tonight Tours, which toured restaurants and bars in downtown Detroit using a London double decker bus. Most recently, Dennis was the owner of PR MI, a marketing and public relations firm in Northville for 25 years. Dennis enjoyed boating and travelling, which he did extensively throughout the US and Europe. He was very interested in politics and current events; he kept himself well informed. He is survived by his loving wife Marcy L. Peters; his brother, Kenneth (Darleen) Horton; his nieces, Michelle Horton and Joelle (Steve) Angelli; his in-laws, Donald and Barbara Peters; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth (Suzanne) Peters, Cheryl (Jack) Fudge, Keith (Donna) Peters, and David (Pat) Peters. He was also loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held Friday, February 7, 2014 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville.
