Irene Kasinski Irene Kasinski, age 93, of Sterling Heights, passed away February 14, 2014. She was born April 2, 1920 in Hamtramck, Michigan; daughter of Peter and Helen (nee Jendrzejczyk) Wojno. Irene was united in marriage to Henry Kasinski on May 20, 1944; they spent 32 loving years together until his death in 1977. She worked as a Bank Manager with Liberty State Bank, working from the time she graduated high school until her mid 60's. Irene loved visiting and spending time with her family. She was a marvelous cook and made the best apple pie in the world. Irene also loved to shop; Hudson's was among her favorite stores. She was a member of the Polish Falcons in Hamtramck. She was also a member of NOMADS; she travelled extensively throughout the US, Europe, and the Caribbean. She is survived by her loving children, Sharon (William) Rossow and Carl (Amanda) Kasinski; her sister, Rita (Richard) Potter; and her grandchildren, Jennifer (Joseph) Brodzik, Mary Elizabeth Rossow, Alexander Kasinski, and Christopher Kasinski. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother John Wojno. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 10am with visitation beginning at 9am at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 North Haggerty Road, Plymouth. Mrs. Kasinski will be laid to rest next to her husband at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.
