Robert F. Zokas

Robert F. Zokas Age 87, of Northville, passed away July 1, 2014 after a battle with lung cancer. He was born February 18, 1927 in Boston, Massachusetts; son of Frank and Anna (Baltusis) Zokas. His father, Frank S. Zokas entered the United States through Ellis Island in 1911 from Lithuania. Robert was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Smith on September 9, 1950; they spent 64 wonderful years together. Robert grew up in Roslindale Massachusetts; he has been a resident of Northville for the past 17 years. Robert joined the US Navy in 1945 and served as an Aviation Radioman in an SB2C dive bomber. After serving in the Navy he returned to Boston to attend art school. In 1956 Robert and Mary Ellen moved to Dearborn Michigan where he worked as an automobile designer for 32 years with Ford Motor Company. Robert had a passion for automobile design and was always interested in the latest models introduced each year. He was a family man; cherishing the time he spent with his family. He was very outgoing and friendly; enjoyed spending time with his friends, which often included a discussion about cars. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ellen; his children, Jeffrey (Karen S.) Zokas and Craig (Karen M.) Zokas; his grandchildren, Erika, Kyle, Jessica, Courtney; and his great grandson Xander.
