Genevieve Zaremba

Genevieve Zaremba Age 96, of Northville, passed away peacefully October 15, 2014. She was born February 8, 1918; daughter of Andrew Bednarek and Katherine Policht Bednarek Wiewiora. She was born, grew up, and raised her family in Detroit and recently moved to Northville. Genevieve was united in marriage to John Zaremba on September 6, 1942; they spent over 34 years together until his death in 1977. She was a devout catholic with a strong faith in God. Genevieve loved gardening, embroidery, and staying active. She was a very loving, nurturing mother and was a very kind hearted person with a wonderful sense of humor. She is survived by her children, Edward Zaremba, Frank (Carol) Zaremba, Matthew (Sandy) Zaremba, Rosemarie (Dr. Jeff Stickney) Zaremba, and Wanda (Dennis) Roame; her sister Helen Smith; her grandchildren, Dr. Daniel (Karen) Zaremba, David (Patricia) Zaremba, Donald (Yvonne) Zaremba, Lori (Timothy) Flint, Wendy (Jerry) Harris, Brian (Sharon) Zaremba, Carrie (Tom) Huber, Mandy (Jeremy) Perdue, Lindsay Douglas, Meredith (Jesse) Meston, Justin (Juli) Roame, Jessica Roame, and Lora Roame; and her great grandchildren, Mia Zaremba, Kyle Zaremba, Marisa Zaremba, Carly Zaremba, Raya Zaremba, Rachel Zaremba, Victoria Zaremba, Katy Harris, Cozette Harris, Makena Harris, Tristana Harris, Alyssa Huber, Hailey Huber, Thomas Huber, Matthew Zaremba, Anna Zaremba, Michael Zaremba, Lydia Perdue, and Lucas Perdue. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Jane Turek, and her brother Michael Bednarek. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 10:30am with a time of gathering beginning at 10am at St. James Catholic Church, 46325 Ten Mile Road, Novi. Father Greg Piatt will officiate the service. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Michigan Chapter, 25200 Telegraph Rd, Ste. 100, Southfield, MI 48033.
