Elaine V. Gregory

Elaine V. Gregory, age 97, of Northville, passed away October 18, 2014. She was born December 27, 1916 in Grand Rapids, Michigan; daughter of Fred H. and Mabel (nee Ellsworth) Smith. Elaine was united in marriage to Floyd E. Gregory; they spent 25 loving years together until his death in 1982. Elaine has been a resident of Northville for 40 years, living for the last 20 years at Allen Terrace. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, where she was very active; volunteering in the office, working on the newsletter, and attending bible study. She enjoyed bowling and golfing. Elaine is survived by her loving niece, Joan (Paul) Williams; her nephew, Bill (Kit) Rau; her daughter-in-law, Ann Gregory; and her grandchildren, Gay (Russ) Nichols, Gary (Dawn) Bingham, and Mike Bingham. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Mae Little; her brothers, Jack Smith, Fred Smith and David Smith. The visitation will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. Rev. Monica William from First United Methodist Church will officiate the service. Ms. Gregory will be laid to rest next to her husband at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi.
