Thomas P. McEvilly Age 93, of Northville, formerly of Dearborn passed away peacefully November 2, 2014. He was born January 16, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Richard and Frances (nee Rugg) McEvilly. Thomas was united in marriage to Adeline "Del" Estenberg on September 2, 1943; celebrating their 71st wedding anniversary this year. He proudly served in the United States Coast Guard for 5 years during World War II. Thomas worked as a field superintendent for Nordstrom Samson in Dearborn. During his career he managed the renovation of Greenfield Village and worked on several large projects in the area. His last big project before retirement was the Novi Hilton (now Sheraton). He served as the Chairman for the Building Board of Appeals in Dearborn for 30 years. Family was the most important aspect of his life. He loved photography; naturally his favorite subjects to shoot were his family. He also enjoyed family vacations and visiting relatives. Thomas is survived by his wife Adeline "Del" McEvilly; his daughter Karen (John) Hill; his grandchildren Jason Hill and Amy (Michael) Ruschak; his siblings Eileen Blazo and Leo McEvilly; and his great grandchildren Nick, Kaitlin, and Dylan. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 7, 2014 at Noon with visitation beginning at 10:30am at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. Father Jack Baker with St. Perpetua Catholic Church will officiate the service. Mr. McEvilly will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery.
