Rodney R. Prim Age 84, died peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Blue Sage Pointe in Overland Park, Kansas. He was born to the late Mary and Anton Prim on February 22, 1930, in East Conemaugh, Pennsylvania. Rodney, graduated from the University of Detroit where he received a BS in Industrial Management (1951) and MBA in Business (1953). He joined the army and served in the reserve as a Machine Accounting Specialist at Ft. Sheridan, Illinois. At that time, the barracks were too full, so he lived in an apartment in Chicago where he met, Marilyn Pohrer, a pretty flight attendant with Delta Airlines down the hall. It was love at first sight, and they were married in 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri. Rodney and Marilyn moved back to Detroit, Michigan where his parents lived. He was offered a job with the Ford Motor Company where he spent the majority of his years working as a Purchasing Manager. During that time, he had the wonderful opportunity of traveling to Japan, Brazil, and Argentina and was then promoted and transferred to Valencia, Venezuela to train individuals in his expertise. It was not only a great opportunity for him but for his family as well. After retiring, he and his wife Marilyn lived the good life as "snow birds" traveling between Alpena, Michigan, Poinciana, Florida and Olathe, Kansas. Rodney was very social and always enjoyed being physically active. He went to the YMCA three to four times a week, played handball, jogged and then took up swimming later in life. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed fishing on the lake. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; brother, Edward his wife Audrey; daughter, Diana (Darby) and her spouse Lance; son, Christopher and his wife Jill; and son, David. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Alexa, Jessica and Harrison Prim; Sarah and Jonathan Darby. His daughter, Susan Prim, predeceases him. Rodney was a loving father, husband and grandfather who will be missed by all. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 29th at the Rural Hill Cemetery on 100 Rural Hill Drive, Northville, Michigan.
