Charles M. Williams, Sr. Age 81, of Farmington Hills, passed away January 12, 2015. He was born December 2, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Burney and Helena (nee McFadden) Williams. Charles joined the United States Air Force on May 20, 1953 at 19 years old. He retired with the rank of Technical Sargent on September 1, 1973 after over 20 years of dedicated service. He was united in marriage to Peggy J. Burnette on October 4, 1958; celebrating their 56th anniversary this past October. After retiring from the Air Force Charles went to work as an electrician with Ford Motor Company. He was known as a work-a-holic, but finally retired after 22 years at Ford. Charles enjoyed fixing cars and small engines. He was proud when he finished building his Bradley GT kit car. Charles had a wonderful sense of humor and liked giving his grandchildren nicknames that made him laugh. He was known as the father of all fathers and was respected and loved by many. Charles is survived by his wife Peggy Williams; his children, Fred (Carol) Williams, Charles (Sue) Williams, Jr., Debi (Brad) Fassler, Mike (Diana) Williams, Ken Williams, and Ron Williams; his grandchildren, April Williams, Melody Williams, Laura Williams, Lisa (Chris) Spencley, Heidi (Don) Skrzypek, Gabriel Fassler, Jeremiah (Connie) Fassler, Siovhan (Allen) Lawrence, Scott Kennedy, Sarah Williams, Ashley Williams, Mercedes Williams, and Dustin Williams; and his great grandchildren, Nicholas, T.J., Kristopher, Tyler, Paige, Morgan, Rylee, Samantha, Bobbie Jo, Aili, Bradley, Dylan, Aaron, Brandon, and Racheal. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Robert M. Williams, and his brothers Burney Williams and James Williams. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 5-8pm. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11am at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. Dr. Victor Halboth from Grace Lutheran Church in Redford Township will officiate the service. Following the funeral service he will receive military honors from the US Air Force. He will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
