Lucille E. Beyreis

Lucille E. Beyreis Age 96, of Westland a previous longtime resident of Bloomfield, passed away January 27, 2015. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 29, 1918; daughter of Gerhardt and Pauline (nee Wiersowski) Handloser. Prior to meeting her husband she worked as a sales clerk with J.L. Hudson. She married Robert "Bob" Beyreis after meeting him while both of them were working for Michigan Bell. She enjoyed cross country skiing and golfing. She was very active with the local senior center. Lucille was very creative and a beautiful accomplished artist. She is survived by her identical twin sister Ruth Mays; her nephews Ron Handloser, Scott Berry, and David Beyreis; her nieces Pollyann Bayorin and Patti Ramah; her cousins Marion Smith and Lucille Ohsowski, who was also her goddaughter; her great nieces Rhonda Weber, Marilyn Engstrom, Kathy Pilon and April Brown; and her great nephew Greg Handloser. She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Susan Beyreis, her sisters Virginia Bayorin and Eva Zeits, and her brother Gordon Handloser. A service will be held Friday, January 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Grand Lawn Cemetery, 23501 Grand River Avenue, Detroit. Contributions would be appreciated to a charity of the giver's choice
