Heidi A. Van Ee

Heidi van Ee, of Northville, passed away March 16, 2015. Cherished daughter of Betsy (nee Stein) and the late Rene van Ee. She was the favorite sister of Rick, Bill, Chris, and Rene. Beloved by sisters-in-law Katie, Bonnie, Sue, and Pam and many nieces and nephews. Heidi was a lifelong Northville resident; born June 7, 1956 at Sessions Hospital, the youngest of 5 children. Until recently she lived at the family home. Heidi spent her youth trying to keep up with her 4 brothers, who she insisted were equally her favorites. Heidi took great pride in her work at STEP Northwest. She enjoyed the independence of working and that her increased productivity meant larger checks. Heidi enjoyed an active social life; she was active with the "Just Fun" Club through ARC of Wayne County, a proud Special Olympian in balance beam, and a dedicated bowler with the Northville Kiwanis. Heidi was born with the travel bug, she flew over 25,000 miles with the Nomad Travel Club, enjoyed many trips to the family beach house in Cheboygan, MI, and many visits to her brothers and family out of state. She and her parents enjoyed many trips to the "Canadian side" to eat lunch on the waterfront and watch the ships go by. Heidi enjoyed music of all types and would often sing along with Dolly Parton and Barbara Streisand. Heidi looked forward to any event that might offer music and dancing. She was a tireless dancer and rightfully labeled "best dancer in the family!" Heidi was an accomplished artist and even had one of her drawings published as a Christmas card. Heidi embraced her family heritage; half Dutch, half American and most importantly half Scottish. She spent many hours listening to the bagpipes and researching the family tartan. Her enthusiasm, helpfulness, and joy will be sorely missed. A memorial service will be held June 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Drive, Northville.
