Helen M. Jolly

Helen M. Jolly, age 93, of Northville, passed away peacefully March 24, 2015. She was born on March 14, 1922 in Albany, New York daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (nee Ryan) Dunham. She was united in marriage to Hubert G. Jolly on July 13, 1942; devoted to each other for over 53 years until Hubert's death on June 8, 1996. Helen was a retail manager of the shoe department at J.L. Hudson's for over 20 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Helen loved plants and had a wonderful green thumb; she kept the plants at Allen Terrace green and growing. She was a feisty, witty, proper and charming. Family was the most important aspect of her life. Helen is survived by her children, Tom (Judie) Jolly, Jan (Tom) Valade, Robert Jolly, Jim (Sue) Jolly, Pam (John) Black, Ron (Laura) Jolly, and Dan (Amy) Jolly; her grandchildren, Bethany (Carl) Swift, Ryan Jolly, Tommy Jolly, Tom (Lynn) Valade, Kim (Brad) Tarnopol, Kristen (Chris) Day, David (Theresa) Valade, Kate Jolly, Jimmy (Katie) Jolly, Ben (Amy) Black, Dylan (Jackie) Black, Madi Jolly, Adam Jolly, and Phoebe Jolly; and her great grandchildren, Katie, Alison, Evan, Emma, Jack, Kate, Micheal, Lexie, Lacie, Lexie, Claire, Kylie, Cody and Richard coming in July. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her siblings, Frank Dunham Jr., Ann Delany, Betty Gregory, Tom Dunham, and Joan Couch. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 26 from 2pm-8pm with a scripture service at 7pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. A funeral mass will be held Friday, March 27 at 10am, with visitation beginning at 9:30am at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard, Northville.
