Margaret M. Halbert Age 87, of Northville, passed away March 27, 2015. She was born on December 4, 1927 in Chistlehurst, England; daughter of James and May (nee Treadwell) Wilkie. Peggy was united in marriage to Raymond L. Halbert on January 27, 1951; celebrating 64 loving years this past January. After graduating from St. Benedict's High School, class of 1946, Peggy began working for MESC, Michigan Employment Security Commission. Following her job with MESC she became a preschool teacher and taught for over 10 years. Her most important job was raising her children and taking care of her home. Peggy was a member of St. Kenneth Catholic Church since 1995, was a member of the Plymouth Community Chorus for 25 years, and was an active member of the Kings Mill Activities Committee. She loved to sing, enjoyed traveling, and liked to go antique shopping. Peggy is survived by her devoted husband Raymond; her children, Susan (Matt) Stoney and James (Gale) Halbert; her daughter-in-law Barbara Halbert; her grandchildren, Candice (Bill) Elwell, Amanda (Peter) Adams, Erica Stoney, Rachel Stoney, and Daniel Stoney; and her great grandchildren, Sophia and Annabelle Adams. She was preceded in death by her son Michael Halbert, her parents, her brother John Wilkie, and her sister-in-law Catherine Wilkie. Visitation will be held Monday, April 13 from 4pm until 8pm with a Scripture Service beginning at 7pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, April 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 Haggerty Road, Plymouth, MI 48170. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to St. Kenneth Catholic Church.
