Edward A. Smith Age 87, of Northville previously of Dearborn, passed away peacefully on opening day for the Detroit Tigers April 6, 2015. He was born June 22, 1927 in Lincoln Park, Michigan; son of Charles and Mathilda (nee Calvert) Smith. Edward was united in marriage to Dolores Wosek on September 17, 1949; they spent over 61 loving years together until her death in 2011. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He retired from Detroit Steel Company after 42 years as an accountant. Edward was a member of Our Lady of Victory. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He liked cars and listening to classical music. He was an avid sports fan; he was especially a fan of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Pistons. Edward is survived by his sons, Mark Smith and Eric Smith; his sister Judy; his grandson Brian Smith; and his granddaughter Audrie Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 10am until Noon with the funeral service beginning at Noon at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. He will be laid to rest at Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock, Michigan.
