Guy "Ron" Roberts Age 80, of Wixom, formerly longtime resident of Northville, passed away on June 8, 2015. He was born August 19, 1934; son of Guy and Jessie (nee Hill) Roberts. Ron married his high school sweetheart, Joan Pangborn on May 14, 1955; they spent 60 loving years together. Ron graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1952 and received a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University in 1962. He began working in building and real estate, later moving to a position as an accountant with Unisys for 20 years. Following his retirement he continued his career in real estate with ERA Rymal Symes until 2000. Ron was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Northville for many years. Ron was an avid golfer; he enjoyed playing on leagues throughout the years and working as a ranger. He also enjoyed playing cards and games in general. He was a world traveler; vacationing in places like Ireland, England, Costa Rica, Alaska, Mediterranean Cruises, and even a bike and barge trip through France. Family was often included in his travels abroad but also to the cottage on Lake Huron or the cabin in Mio where he loved to spend time. He also spent his past 13 years enjoying winters in Central Florida. Ron was a selfless person; he would do anything for anybody. He adored his Yorkie dogs, Izzy and Roxy. He was a true family man and cherished the time they spent together; he especially loved being a Papa. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Roberts; his children, Julie (Tom) Andrews, Jeff (Gale) Roberts, and Jan Roberts; his sister, Betty Smith; his grandchildren, Kevin (Tacha) Andrews, Brett Roberts, Rebecca Andrews, and Brad Roberts; and his great granddaughter, Lilyana Andrews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Roberts; his parents; and 6 siblings. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 18. 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with a time of gathering beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. Rev. Monica William with First United Methodist Church of Northville will officiate the service.
