John E. Brevik

John E Brevik, 64, of Northville left this earth to go back home to God on June 22, 2015. It is now time to say, see you later and to wish him well on this new journey with God. He was a practicing Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Northville. John was born Feb 27, 1951. He grew up in Detroit and moved with his parents to Northville in the 1950s where he has since resided. He was an avid classic car lover and would frequently tell stories of racing his Chevy Nova on the drag strips. John was also famously known for his dry humor, witty one liners, and paying it forward. His face would light up every time he would see his grandkids and family. He was preceded in death by his parents Merton and Cecelia Brevik. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeannette (nee Marino) Brevik; his children, Erica Brevik and Eric (Erin) Brevik II; his grandchildren, Maia and Nathaniel; his sister Joan Ward; his niece Christina (Russ) Kennedy; and many other loving family members and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., in state 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 47650 N Territorial Rd, Plymouth, MI 48170. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to The National Parkinson Foundation and The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
