James Stanley Morrocco

February 27, 1944 — July 2, 2015

Jim S. Morrocco, age 71, of Northville, passed away on July 2, 2015. Jim was born On February 27, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Stanley J. and Anna (nee Yacynik) Morrocco. He was united in marriage to Judith S. Sarut on April 29, 1966; celebrating their 49th wedding anniversary this past April. Jim was a loving, caring, and compassionate husband. Jim retired as the Regional VP of Sales from Ingersol in 2007, but kept busy through community involvement. He was a member of the Breakfast Club and an active member of the Catholic Central Boosters Club. For the past 3 years he volunteered as a Probation Officer with the City of Livonia. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and golfing. In his younger years he liked to go hunting until he realized his love of nature overpowered the thrill of the hunt. Jim loved being outdoors watching his grandchildren playing sports or swimming in the pool; he also was fond of going to Maybury Farm. Pops or Papa, as his grandkids called him, treasured the time he spent with his family. Jim was a talented alto saxophone player and also played the tenor sax. Most of all Jim had a wonderful sense of humor and was kind to everyone he met. Jim is survived by his loving wife Judy; his cherished children, Todd (Tracey O'Hara) Morrocco and Carey (Karl) Vethacke; his adored grandchildren, Joshua, Aidan, Emma, and Harper; and his brother Kenneth Morrocco. He will be truly missed by many loving friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 5, 2015 from 2pm until 8pm with a prayer service at 7pm and Monday, July 6, 2015 from 10am until Noon with the funeral service beginning at Noon at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. He will be laid to rest at Rural Hill Cemetery. Rev. Robert Schaden will officiate the services.
