June A. LaPlante June A. LaPlante, age 83, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away peacefully July 24, 2015. She was born June 21, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Herman and Freda (nee Ballstead) Marshall. June was a graduate of Edsel Ford High School in Dearborn. She worked as a secretary for Kerr Manufacturing in Romulus, retiring after many years with the company. June enjoyed cooking, she was a wonderful cook. She loved hosting Thanksgiving dinner, birthday celebrations and basically all special family events; she was an extraordinary and caring hostess. She also enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress; she made much of her children's and grandchildren's clothing, including the family's Halloween costumes and items for home décor. June loved gardening and flowers, often redesigning her landscape so it was the envy of neighbors. She travelled extensively throughout Europe with her family, visiting places like Ireland, France, Spain, Germany, and Switzerland. She was selfless in the care of her family. June truly loved them, she was a very thoughtful and devoted mother and grandmother, and she absolutely adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a beautiful person inside and out. June is survived by her loving daughters, Sharon Rizzo and Carol (Bradley) Westfall; her granddaughters, Erin Conklin and Maria Westfall; her great grandsons, Ayden and Weston; and her brother Alan (Peggy) Marshall. She was preceded in death by her parents. Private family services will be held. She will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
