Samuel M. Hall Age 77, longtime resident of Northville, passed away on September 5, 2015. He was born July 31, 1938 in Youngstown, Ohio; son of Stanley and Dorothy (nee McMaster) Hall. Sam was united in marriage to Barbara "Bo" Shinnick on November 19, 1960; they spent 54 loving years together. Sam graduated from Dearborn High School in 1956 and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Michigan in 1960. While attending U of M he was a member of Chi Phi Fraternity. He worked in Human Resources for Ford Motor Company, retiring in 2001 after 41 years with the company. Sam was an avid U of M football fan. He enjoyed nature and spending time outdoors hiking and cross country skiing. Sam was a world traveler; he traveled extensively throughout Europe, visited Japan, and explored the U.S. on Route 66. Sam loved spending time up north at his cottage on Bois Blanc Island, which is located in the Straits of Mackinac. He also enjoyed the winters he spent in Florida. Sam cherished the time spent with family and friends. He truly loved his family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife Bo Hall; his children, Cathy Reece, Linda (Jim) Dowton, and David (Michelle) Hall; his grandchildren, Ben, Jason, Spencer, Liam, Jolie, and Jamie; his faithful companion, Guinness; and his group of longtime dear friends, The Sidetrippers. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Janice Moorhead. A time of gathering will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville.
