Roger Lee Vogel Age 87, of Wixom and Cocoa Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 11, 2015. He was born on February 4, 1928 in Portsmouth, Ohio; son of Steven and Fae (nee Rice) Vogel. He was united in marriage to Marthalee Smith on March 28, 1948; celebrating over 67 years together as husband and wife. Roger graduated from Portsmouth High School, class of 1945. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served during World War II. He attended Ohio State University and began his career at Borden Dairy in 1953. He was a very hardworking employee and became Vice President; retiring from Borden Dairy in 1990. Roger was a 32 degree Mason. He loved sailing and playing golf. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, and spending time outdoors in his garden. Roger was confident, funny, adventurous and independent. He was a very loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his devoted wife Marthalee; his children, Sher (Rick) Watkins and Roger (Marsha) Vogel II; his brother Robert Vogel; his grandchildren, Julie Wise, Mindy (Bob) Wolfe, Tracy (Paul) Harris, Landy (Joe) Butters, and Roger (Diana) Vogel III; and his great grandchildren, Gwen, Luke, Jonathan, Isabella, Joey, George, Patrick, Jack, Morgan, and Annaliese.
