Bruce Amos Shank Age 87, a resident of Northville since 1972, passed away on September 28, 2015. He was born September 16, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Basil and Effie (bee Pratten) Shank. Bruce graduated from Cooley High School and soon after graduation he was drafted into the United States Army. He proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Myrna Mickens on June 24, 1960; lovingly together for 55 years. Bruce was a dedicated lineman for 37 years with Michigan Bell; he retired on February 23, 1992. He loved rock collecting and was proud of his collection. Bruce enjoyed hiking and being outdoors. He loved traveling to the U.P. and spending time on Lake Superior or on his property in White Fish Point. He was an avid reader and liked reading National Geographic. Bruce was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife Myrna Shank; his children, Beverly (Douglas) Alcott, Gail (Barry) Keener, Ronald (Mariam) English, Susan English, and Colleen (John) Ashby; his grandchildren, Ashley, Melissa, Rose, Robert, Theresa, Toby and Jason; and his great grandchildren, Camden, Lyndzey, Jarrett, Audrey, Kyle, Luke, and Jessalynn. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister June Pollina. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 5-8pm. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 2 at 11am, with visitation beginning at 10am at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville.
