Genevieve Haas, age 98 of Northville, passed away peacefully October 7, 2015. She was born April 9, 1917 in Magolsheim, Germany; daughter of Nikolaus and Josephine (nee Koenig) Daubenschuetz. Genevieve was united in marriage to Franz Haas in 1948; they spent 24 loving years together until his death in 1972. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Northville. Genevieve, a homemaker, was a wonderful cook; she specialized in traditional German dishes, such as her famous Eagle cake and savory Sptzle noodle dish. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends and always made sure you ate as much as you possibly could. Genevieve was an incredibly sweet person; she always had a kind word to share and helped people in any way she could. Her granddaughters were the joy of her life, she absolutely adored them. Genevieve is survived by her loving son, Frank (Christine) Haas; and her granddaughters, Cherilyn (John) Fraser and Suzanne (Colby) Hubbard. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and 4 siblings. The visitation will be held Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., in state 9:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Dr., Northville.
