David Adam

David AdamAge 84, of Livonia, passed away on January 11, 2016. He was born December 8, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan; son of David and Margaret (nee Adams) Adam. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. David was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Klocke on June 23, 1956; they spent 56 loving years together until her death in 2012. David was a devoted member of the Shriners and Shriners International; he spent many hours as a volunteer with Shriners Hospitals for Children. He was a member of the Lincoln Park VFW Post 552 and a member of the Plymouth Rock Masonic Lodge #47. David enjoyed woodworking, quilting and sewing. He was very creative and talented. He loved camping which began when his family was young using a van he converted to a camper then later in life he and his wife, Mary Ellen would travel together in their fifth wheel. Being with his family was the most important aspect of David’s life. David is survived by his children, Debra (David) Witek, Cynthia (Jack) Ramm, David (Corey) Adam and Doug (Marcie Dembek) Adam; his sister-in-law Shirley Adam; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Ryan) Kuchciak, Steven (Veronica) Witek, Nicholas Ramm, Denise Ramm, David Adam, Samantha Adam, and Michelle (Aaron) Haught; and his great grandchildren, Natalie, Kendall, Aubrey, Hunter, and Kaycee. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his brother William Adam.Visitation will be held Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 2-8pm with a Masonic service at 7pm. The funeral service will be held Friday, January 15, 2016 at 2pm with visitation beginning at 1pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. Rev. Drex Morton from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bridgewater will officiate the service and the US Army will render Military Honors following the service.The family would appreciate memorial contributions to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
