Peter M. Ross, Jr.. age 78, longtime resident of Northville, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2016. He was born August 17, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan; son of Peter M. and Clementine (nee Elie) Ross. He proudly served in the United States Army following the Korean War in the communication department. Peter was united in marriage to Karen L. Engwall on August 10, 1963; they spent 52 loving years together. Peter graduated from U of D in 1967 and furthered his education with a MBA from Michigan State University. He was an Engineering Manager with Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1999 after 35 years with the company. Peter was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Northville. He enjoyed skiing, tennis, and sailing. He was a fantastic golfer and when given the opportunity to join the Pro Tour, he chose to remain close to his family. He was an avid sports fan, especially Tiger baseball. Peter also enjoyed coaching his sons in their various sporting activities. He traveled extensively throughout the world; among his favorite places were Italy and Colorado. Peter was a loving father and husband. He had a tremendous work ethic; he was responsible, strong, and a wonderful role model for his sons. Peter is survived by his wife, Karen L. Ross; his children, Stephen (Rita) Ross, Michael (Danielle) Ross, and Thomas (Nichole) Ross; his grandchildren, Allison, Sydney, and Kaley; his brother-in-law, Lee (Shirley) Engwall; and his extended family, Sam and Ann Horn and their children Mason and Ethan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Martha Joanisse. Visitation will be held Monday, January 25, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., in state 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Dr., Northville. Mr. Ross will be laid to rest in Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville.
