Keith Reuben MannistoAge 67, a lifetime resident of Northville, passed away suddenly on February 10, 2016. He was born February 9, 1949 in Highland Park, Michigan; son of Ralph and Ruth (nee Siira) Mannisto. Keith was united in marriage to Anne E. Vargo on August 29, 1978; they spent over 37 devoted years together. Keith began a career as a Laser Technician with KMS Fusion, a start-up research company in Ann Arbor. He then became a computer programmer and was employed as a contract programmer with Compuware for 16 years. He retired in 2009. One of his career accomplishments was working on the Y2K project, a numerical disaster that was averted because of people like Keith.Keith was a pyrotechnician that ran the 4th of July fireworks display in Northville in the 1980’s. He loved yoga and meditation and was advanced in his practice. He had a passion for photography and enjoyed making digital panoramic art. Keith was a volunteer for the Friends of the Northville Library and he volunteered at the annual Penguicon, an open-source programming and sci-fi convention. He liked traveling to the U.P. and swimming in Lake Superior. He was very adventurous and loved going with his family to Cedar Pointe to ride the roller coasters. He was a member of the American Roller Coaster Enthusiast Club. He was a kind and loving husband and dad. Keith is survived by his wife Anne; his daughters, Jessie Mannisto and Emily (fiancé Ben Dickinson) Mannisto; his mother Ruth Mannisto; his siblings, Dennis Mannisto, Eliisa (Steve) Siegle, and Mark (Debbie) Mannisto; his sister-in-laws, Dana Szanti, Elaine Vargo, and Amy (Rob) Buttery; his brother-in-law Mark Vargo; and his niece and nephews, Matt, Nicholas, Luke, Abbey, Bill, Matt, Wesley, Ben, Michael, and Aaron. He was preceded in death by his father, his brother-in-law Michael Vargo, and his niece Becca Vargo-Daggett.Visitation will be held Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 2pm until 5pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. A funeral service will be held Monday, February 15, 2016 at 11am, instate at 10am, at the First United Methodist Church, 777 West 8 Mile, Northville. Rev.
