Sybil L. Beetler, age 77, a longtime resident of Northville passed away February 15, 2016. She was born November 24, 1938 in Wise County, Virginia; daughter of Jackson and Nora (nee Smith) Jessee. She was united in marriage to Charles “Dan” Beetler on November 20, 1965; celebrating 50 loving years together in 2015. Sybil received her Associates Degree in Art History from the University of Cincinnati. She was an Executive Secretary who began her career working at an advertising company; once she had children she made the decision to stay home. Then when her daughters were older she joined the work force again becoming her husband’s secretary at Urban’s Partition Remodeling in Northville. She retired in 2001 as soon as she became a grandmother.Sybil enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She loved to host dinner parties and bible study groups at her home. Many people were influenced by her generous spirit and her devotion to God. She loved going on walks to enjoy the beauty of nature and for the exercise. She was a very selfless and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her life and they have many fond memories of her reading to them. Sybil is survived by her cherished husband Charles “Dan” Beetler; her daughters, Lori (Don) Elliott and Jennifer (Patrick) Garrett; her step-son Brooke Beetler; her siblings, Ray (Peggy) Jessee, Ronnie (Debbie) Jessee, and Linda (Paul) Grim; her sister-in-law Irene Jessee; and her grandchildren Noah, Seth, Luke, Liam, Grace, Kate, and Gabe. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-son Doug Beetler; and her siblings, Jacqueline Stallard, Ralph “Bud” Jessee, Jo Lynn Stephens, Larry Jessee, David Wayne “D.W.” Jessee, Helen Hoffman, and Greta Holcomb.Visitation will be held Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 3-7pm. The funeral service will be held Friday, February 19, 2016 at 10:30am at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. Pastor Ron Ward with Northville Christian Assembly of God will officiate the service. She will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
