Mitchell Rackov

Mitchell Rackov age 79, of Marion, formerly of New Hudson, passed away on February 23, 2016. He was born March 2, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan; son of William and Angela (nee Chmura) Rackov. Mitchell graduated from Northville High School in 1953; following graduation he attended University of Michigan. He worked as an Engineer in the metal fabrication industry; he retired after 40 years. Mitchell was an avid sports fan; his favorite sports were baseball and football. He also enjoyed fantasy sports and was a huge University of Michigan fan. He was a voracious reader and liked working on the computer. Mitchell was a devoted single father; he raised his son from the age of 2. He was a hard worker his whole life and had enjoyed retiring to his family farm Up North. Mitchell is survived by loving son Brian S. Rackov; his mother, Angela Rackov; and his brother John Rackov. He was preceded in death by his father.The visitation will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until Noon with a funeral service at Noon at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. Mr. Rackov will be laid to rest at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi.
