Hilarion E. McLeod Age 92, of Livonia, passed away May 2, 2016. Born on October 21, 1923 in Saginaw, Michigan; daughter of James Daniel and Elizabeth (nee O'Melia) McLeod. Hilarion graduated from Marygrove College in 1946 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She worked as a nationally recognized, free-lance, commercial artist in the fashion industry in New York City..... for Vogue Pattern Book, Simplicity Pattern Book, and large national department stores, including Winkelman's and J.L. Hudson. In 1975 when the fashion industry turned to photography, Hilarion moved to Livonia from New York and raised her nephews, Dan and Jim. Her faith was important to her. Hilarion's career was in commercial art but she was also recognized as a fine artist. She was a terrific cook, an avid reader, a selfless loving and caring sister, aunt and friend. Hilarion is survived by her sister Patricia (the late Frank) Kennedy; her brother Edmund (the late Sandra Lee) McLeod; 21 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Mary Joan Robinson and Frances McNally. Visitation will be held Monday, May 9, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., instate at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Dr., Northville, MI 48167. Memorial contributions are appreciated for Our Lady of Victory Catholic School where monies collected will be used to purchase art supplies.
