Arthur Davis Anderson Age 92, of Northville, passed away on May 8, 2016. He was born April 11, 1924 in Menomonie, Wisconsin; son of Arthur and Florence (nee Davis) Anderson. He was united in marriage to Rosemarie G. Breckoff on July 18, 1977; together for over 38 years. Art proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of the VFW Post 4012. Art earned a Bachelor degree in Secondary Education from Michigan State University and a Master Degree from Wayne State University. He taught Industrial Arts and Drafting at Stevenson High School as well as other schools in the Livonia Public School System; retiring in 1990. Art loved to go sailing, doing yard work, and golfing with his friends; spending many hours outside enjoying nature. Once retired from his teaching career, he became the historian through his Navy ship reunion association and dedicated many hours to this new endeavor. Art built a model replica of the Naval ship he served on during the war; USS Casablanca CVE 55. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife Rosemarie; his children, Susan McCain, Arthur “John” (Donna) Anderson, Eric Anderson, Tracy (David) Zigila, and Eric (Patricia) Breckoff; his grandchildren, Tiffany McCain, Heather McCain, Taggart Anderson, Kaitlin (Gianni) Molinaro, Ashley (Will) Rickert, Logan Zigila, John Zigila, Kyle Hultman, Normajean (Joshua) Brown, Fletcher (Masha) Hultman, and Schuyler Hultman; and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jack Anderson. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 12 from 4pm until 8pm. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 13 at 11am, with visitation beginning at 10am at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. He will be laid to rest at Rural Hill Cemetery where the US Navy will render military honors.
