Chuck Brokas

Chuck Brokas Chuck Brokas, age 79, a longtime resident of Plymouth, passed away peacefully May 8, 2016. He was born on December 3, 1936 in Alvitas, Lituania; son of Vincas and Konstancija (nee Svotaite) Brokas.  Chuck was united in marriage to Shirley A. Saner on May 9, 1959; they were one day shy of 57 years of marriage.             Chuck was devoted to his family; he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He was very generous, caring, and incredibly hardworking.  Chuck was very handy and often shared his skills to help others.  He could fix anything and enjoyed working on cars.  His favorite cars were a ’63 Impala and a ’57 Chevy.  He also enjoyed traveling in his motorhome, fishing, and camping.  Chuck cherished time spent with family; he loved family gatherings and spending time Up North on Windover Lake.  He is survived by his loving wife Shirley Brokas; his children, Debbie (Brian) Blackney, Judy (Dan) Lybarger, and Gary (Laura) Brokas; his sisters, Zita (George) Leszczynski and Connie Recca; his grandchildren, Kelly (Jeff) Ozanich, Lisa Blackney, Rachel Blackney, Candi (Chris) Powell, Sara Lybarger, Michael (Maureen) Lybarger, Jason (Sarah) Lybarger, Jacquelyn Brokas, and Nicole Brokas; and his great grandchildren, Colin, Chase, Mia, Cody, Sam, Audrey, and Claire.  He was preceded in death by his parents.   Visitation will be held Friday, May 13, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville.  Pastor Wayne Kurtycz from Northridge Church in Plymouth will officiate the service.    In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial contributions to Northridge Church, 49555 N.
