Margaret S. Davis

Margaret “Peggy” Davis, age 82, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away May 17, 2016.  She was born on June 20, 1933 in Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter of Lea and Helen (nee Moore) Sturgeon. Peggy was united in marriage to Ames K. Davis on February 2, 1952; celebrating 64 years of devotion to each other in 2016. Before meeting her husband she was a ballet dancer who trained and performed in New York City. Peggy was an accomplished artist; her medium of focus was watercolors. Her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was important to her; she was a member of Ward Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed gardening and loved dogs. Peggy also liked being outdoors admiring nature’s beauty. Spending time at her home on the Smoky Mountain range brought together everything she cherished. Peggy was a devoted, loving, patient and self-sacrificing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her husband Ames; her children, Kevin (Linda) Davis, Neil (Jamie) Davis, Eric (Michelle) Davis, and Craig (Melissa) Davis; and her grandchildren, Carolyn (Michael Estornell) Davis, Hannah Davis, Garrett Davis, Ryann Davis, Griffin Davis, Claire Davis, Colin Davis, Ella Davis, and Slayden Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 19 from 5-8pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville.  A memorial service will be held Friday, May 20 at 11am with visitation beginning at 10am at Ward Presbyterian Church, 40000 6 Mile Road, Northville. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 20 at 2:30pm at Glen Eden Memorial Park, 35667 8 Mile Rd, Livonia. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Humane Society of Huron Valley, 3100 Cherry Hill Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
