Jerald A. Geer

Jerald A. GeerJerald A. Geer, age 78, a longtime resident of South Lyon, passed away on May 31, 2016.  He was born March 29, 1938 in Novi, Michigan; son of Stanley and Mae (nee Gleason) Geer. Jerald was united in marriage to Cecelia M. Alessi on July 13, 1957; and they spent 58 loving years together. Jerald worked as an Electronic Technician for many years, he later went to work for General Motors retiring in 1993.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in South Lyon.   Jerald was an avid outdoors-man; he enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed spending time at his cottage and on his pontoon boat in the UP.  Jerald had an inventive mind; he liked to tinker with electronics and wrote some of his own computer programs.  He could often be found relaxing with a beer in his well-cared for yard.  Jerald loved his family and cherished the time they spent together.    Jerald is survived by his wife Cecelia M. Geer; his children, Greg (Joyce Rogers) Geer and Linda Geer; his brothers, Allen (Nancy) Geer and Dick Geer; his grandchildren, Daniel (Ashlee) Geer, Joshua (Raven) Geer, Jason Geer, Jerald Geer, Victoria Geer, and Nathan Paul Geer; and 2 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister. Visitation will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.   A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville.  He will be laid to rest at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi.
