Arthur A. Adamowicz

November 4, 1937 — June 23, 2016

     Arthur A. Adamowicz, age 78, a longtime resident of Northville, passed away peacefully June 23, 2016. He was born on November 4, 1937; son of Anthony Edward and Eleanore Elizabeth (nee Ciupak) Adamowicz.  After graduating from Detroit Catholic Central at the age of 16, Art proudly joined the US Army where he was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was united in marriage to Sandra Lee on January 7, 1967; lovingly married until her death on July 22, 1995.       Art was major sports fan; he enjoyed watching and playing sports. When he was younger he was a fantastic baseball player. He loved watching the Lions, Tigers, and University of Michigan games. He was a member of the American Legion Post 147, a member of the Northville Eagles Club, and a life member of the Plymouth Elks. Art was a very loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.       He is survived by his children, Tony (Karry) Adamowicz, Debbie (Tim) Cislo, and Tommy V. Adamowicz; his siblings, Judy (Mort) Anderson, Susan (Rick) Rees, and Joseph (Tammy) Adamowicz; and his grandchildren, Anthony III, Nickolas, Sandy, and Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his sister Patricia Perry and his brother Tony Adamowicz.      Visitation will be held Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 2-8pm with a scripture service at 7pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. A funeral mass will be held Monday, June 27, 2016 at 10:30am, instate at 10am at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard, Northville. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to JDRF, 24359 Northwestern Hwy, Suite 125, Southfield, MI 48075.
