Elizabeth Cousins Dean

Elizabeth C. Dean, age 92, a longtime resident of Knoxville, TN passed away July 25, 2016. She was born July 29, 1923; daughter of Thomas and Jennie (nee Huard) Cousins.  Elizabeth was born and raised in Northville, Michigan.  While in high school she worked at her families dry good store, J.H. Cousins, which was located in downtown Northville; later in life she worked for the Ann Arbor store.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Northville and attended First Presbyterian Church of Knoxville.  Elizabeth was a devoted homemaker; she took wonderful care of her family.  Growing up on a farm, she cultivated a green thumb, a passion that stayed with her throughout life in the form of floral and vegetable gardening.  She was also an accomplished seamstress. She is survived by her children, Nancy (Steve) Fisher, Thomas (Jane) Dean, John Randolph (Linda) Dean, Laurie (Scott) Manning and Clissa (Michael Freeman) Dean; her grandchildren, Robert (Julie) Dean, Thomas Scott Manning, and John M. Freeman; and one great grandchild on the way.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Marion, Robert, Alfred, Eunice, and Frances.  A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 11am at Roseland Park Cemetery, 29001 Woodward Ave., Berkley, Michigan. A celebration of life will take place at a later date in Knoxville, TN.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions would be appreciated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or American Cancer Society, P.O.
