Marian K. Cooper Age 83, of Novi, formerly a longtime resident of Northville, passed away August 18, 2016. She was born September 2, 1932 in Binley Village, England; daughter of Frank and Mable ( Fincher) Redfern. She was united in marriage to John K. Cooper on June 6, 1953; they spent 52 loving years together until his death in 2006. Marian worked for several years at JC Penney when it first opened at Twelve Oaks Mall. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels preparing, serving, and delivering meals. Marian enjoyed gardening, knitting, playing cards, and bingo. She loved word searches and casino games on her iPad. Marian was very social and enjoyed the company of her friends and family. She enjoyed vacationing each year with her children and visiting family in England. Marian also enjoyed cruising; she traveled to the Baltic, Mediterranean, and Caribbean Seas and Alaska. She also traveled across the United States. Marian is survived by her loving children, Lesley (John) Cooper Ripper and Paul Cooper; her siblings, Frank (Pam) Redfern and Vera Malpass; her grandchildren, Lauren (Kevin) Ripper Nelson and Eric Ripper; and her great granddaughter, Haley Nelson. All will deeply miss her. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her sister, Margaret Garrihy. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. Pastor James N. McGuire will officiate the service.
