Elizabeth M. Klotz, age 101, of Northville passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 21, 2016. She was born on July 1, 1915 in Maspeth, New York; daughter of William and Mary (Kingsley) Hofer. On June 14, 1936 she was united in marriage to Henry Klotz; lovingly dedicated to each other until his death on September 30, 1975. When Elizabeth was only 16 years old she chose to go to Browns Business School to help her family during the depression. She was a hard worker and one of the best Comptometer Operators for General Motors; where she worked for 25 years. Elizabeth loved to needlepoint and made beautiful quilts for her family. She was an avid reader and liked spending time at the beach. She enjoyed travelling all over the world; her favorite place to visit was Hawaii. Elizabeth was the best mother and grandmother; her family was everything to her. She is survived by her children, Robert (Patricia) Klotz and Linda Waldeck; her daughter-in-law Deanna Klotz; her brother Robert Hofer; her sister-in-laws, Rosemary Hofer and Maria Hofer; her grandchildren, William (Julie) Klotz, Robert (Colleen Debolski) Klotz, Thomas (Jacklyn) Klotz, Sean (Erin) Klotz, Eric (Katherine) Klotz, Rebecca (Marvin Cadiente) Klotz, and Beth (Michael) Buschell; and her great grandchildren, William, Michael, Jack, Charlie, Matthew, Ava, Emma, Abby, Ethan, Riley, Ella, Sam, and Kaia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Henry Klotz, her siblings, Vera (Andrew) Scheuermann, William (Odessa) Hofer, Roderick Hofer, Howard (Lois) Hofer, Arthur Hofer and Ruth Hofer. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 25 from 2-8pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 26 at 11am, instate at 10am at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 39020 5 Mile Road, Livonia. Rev. Rodney L. Buland will officiate the service.
