Joseph P. Gardella

     Joseph P. Gardella, age 87, of Northville, formerly of Grosse Pointe and Bloomfield Hills, passed away on September 21, 2016. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 8, 1929; son of Louis and Ione (nee Sclavo) Gardella. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.       Joseph was the 2nd generation owner of Gardella Furniture in Detroit; he retired in 2001 after many years of dedication to his company and his family. Joseph enjoyed golfing, reading, and playing cards. His favorite card games were bridge and poker. He was a very hard worker and a good provider for his family. Joseph had a gregarious personality and was a very patient man. He was a devoted father and a sculptor of souls.           Joseph is survived by his children Joseph (Rosalie) Gardella, Gene (Elizabeth) Gardella, Gary (Carel) Gardella, and Greg (Kristin) Gardella; and his grandchildren Joseph Gardella, Olivia Gardella, Grant Gardella, Landon Gardella, Gary Gardella, Tommy Gardella, Gregory Gardella, and Andrew Gardella. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his sister Eda Palazzolo, and his brother Louis Gardella.       He was laid to rest at Mt.
