G. Juanita Vradenburg Age 95, a proud lifelong resident of Northville, passed away September 23, 2016. She was born August 27, 1921 in Sheffield, Alabama; daughter of George Washington and Mary Pauline (nee Osborn) Stanford. She was united in marriage to Al Vradenburg on March 14, 1941; dedicated to one another until his death in 1996. Juanita moved to Northville when she was 2 years old and was a 1939 graduate of Northville High School. She worked as a bank teller with the National Bank of Detroit for over 20 years. Earlier in life she worked as a seamstress during WWII as well as several other factory jobs while her husband served in the US Army. A fond memory she often shared was the time she traveled on a troop train to be with her husband while he was stationed in California. She enjoyed traveling; her favorite trip was the one she took with her sisters to New York City. Juanita’s mind was continually open and searching for new things to learn. She was very intelligent and was fascinated in learning, from birds to space travel and everything in between. She was self-educated, loved to read, and enjoyed completing crossword puzzles. Juanita and Al provided a special place for family to visit. She was a loving, non-judgmental and positive woman who was devoted to her family. Juanita never lectured, never judged, she simply loved! Juanita is survived by her children, Ron (Nikki) Vradenburg, Wendy (Tom) Wall, and Brian (Rhonda) Vradenburg; her siblings, Esther Mae Dunham, Helen (Ray) Pollick, Tom Stanford, and Janice Hamer; her aunt Esther Osborn; her grandchildren, Rachel Wall, Ronda (Jaclyn) Pype, Carey Smith, Billy (Suzi) Vradenburg, Nikki (Ken) Shingledecker, and Emily Vradenburg; her great grandchildren, Corrine, Kevin Jr., Drew, Jackson, Brody, Lucas, Carson, Avery, Ellie, and Navin; and her great great grandson Rylan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister Eugenia Swain; her brothers-in-law, Al Swain, Frank Dunham, and Roy Hamer; and her grandson Andy Wall. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 27 from 2-8pm. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 28 at 11am with visitation beginning at 10am at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. Juanita will be laid to rest at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi.
