Maria F. Pisto Age 85, of Northville, formerly of Dearborn Heights, passed away December 28, 2016. She was born August 8, 1931; daughter of Ferdinando Bruno and Maria Immacolata (nee Reitano) Castelvetere. She was united in marriage to Philip Pisto on February 3, 1950; they spent over 66 loving years devoted to one another. For more than 40 years Maria and her husband owned and operated a barber shop and beauty shop; Philip ran the barber shop and Maria ran the beauty shop. Most recently, they owned Pisto’s Barber Shop in Livonia; she retired in 2001. Following retirement she and her husband spent their winters in Bonita Springs, FL.  She was an active member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Maria loved tending to her many beautiful floral gardens and also enjoyed farming her acres of vegetable gardens. She was very social and enjoyed spending time with her friends. She was a world traveler; among her favorite places to visit were Australia, Italy, and Spain. Maria was passionate about cooking; always feeding family and friends, hungry or not. Her specialty was her homemade spaghetti sauce and “Grandma’s Soup”, which she would jar for her family and friends when she was away. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her family; she truly loved them unconditionally.   Maria is survived by her beloved husband Philip; her children, Rocco (Vicki) Pisto and Joseph (Darla) Pisto; and her grandchildren, Amanda, Kyle, Philip, Gina, and Tony. She was also loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers. Visitation will be held Friday, December 30, 2016 from 4pm until 7pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 10:30am, she will be instate at 10am at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Drive, Northville. Rev. Father Denis Theroux will officiate the service. Following mass she will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Southfield. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, Contributions – VE01FS, 4100 John R, Detroit, Michigan 48201 or Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Drive, Northville, Michigan 48167.
