Valerie Anne Morris

Valerie A. Morris Age 69, formerly of Dearborn and Southgate, passed away on January 13, 2017 at Marycrest Manor in Livonia after a courageous battle with Multiple System Atrophy. She was born on January 12, 1948 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada; daughter of Budd Lynch and Frances B. (nee Gee) Lynch. She was raised in Dearborn and graduated from Divine Child High School. She lived in Southgate for most of her adult life, moving to Plymouth in 2012 to be closer to family. Valerie enjoyed visiting the local casinos with her girlfriends. She was kind and gentle and loved cats. Valerie was a natural caretaker who was dedicated to her family.  In 2012, Val was diagnosed with an untreatable disease, Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). She handled every day of her journey bravely, humbly, without complaint and she touched the lives of those who cared for her. Valerie is survived by her sisters, Janis (Arthur) Ruffino, Mary (Tony) Schimizzi, Frances (Bill) Lary, Pat (John) Lamerato, and Lori (Steve) Knorr; and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.                Visitation will be held Monday, January 16, 2017 from 4-8pm at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 West Dunlap, Northville. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 11am, instate at 10:30am at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Drive, Northville. Father Denis Theroux will officiate the service. She will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions be made to any Multiple System Atrophy Foundation or Charity to help with research and support for others battling this rare disease.
