Lillian E. Buttermore Lillian E. Buttermore, age 99, a lifelong resident of Northville, passed away January 30, 2017. She was born February 17, 1917 in Redford, Michigan; daughter of George and Mary (nee Schoeb) Henning. Lillian was united in marriage to Charles F. “Chuck” Buttermore on March 8, 1934; they spent 63 loving years together until his death in 1997. Lillian was a longtime member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Northville. Affectionately known as, “Tootie,” Lillian was a devoted homemaker; she took wonderful care of her family and enjoyed taking care of her home. She loved flowers and tending to her beautiful gardens. Tootie loved to bake and cook; known as the “Cookie Queen” her delicious chocolate chip cookies were a family favorite. She liked to watch cooking shows and try new recipes, but always went back to her traditional dishes loved by her family. Lillian enjoyed reading, especially the newspaper and the magazine, “True Confessions.” She was a talented seamstress; she made all of her own dresses and was a master at darning socks and patching blue jeans. Lillian cherished her family and especially adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lillian is survived by her loving daughter, Jean F. Rosselle; her siblings, Roy (Ruth) Henning and Violet Bennett; her grandchildren, Ricke (Nancy) Rosselle, Ronald (Christine) Rosselle, Rhonda (Jeffrey) Buck, Ryan (Cynthia) Rosselle, Rodney Rosselle, Renee (Fred) Fisher, and Roxanne Rosselle; and her great grandchildren, Stephen, Nichole, Randy, Kyle, Jason, Austin, Brittney, Tyler, Katie, and Haley. She was preceded in death by her husband, her grandson Randy Rosselle, her parents, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at Noon with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. Mrs. Buttermore will be laid to rest next to her husband at Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville.
