Beverly A. Burnette Beverly A. Burnette, age 90, longtime resident of Northville, passed away on June 28, 2017. She was born September 24, 1926 in Rosebush, Michigan; daughter of Joseph and Nellie (nee Maxwell) Thomas. She graduated from Saline High School; Class of 1945. Beverly was united in marriage to Larry N. Burnette on October 2, 1965; they spent 41 loving years as husband and wife until his death on January 22, 2007. Beverly retired from Plymouth Canton Public Schools after working for many years as a Teacher’s Aide with special education students. She was a member of VFW Post 4012 Ladies Auxiliary where she enjoyed socializing. She also enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo. Beverly was a devoted homemaker, family was incredibly important to her. She loved spending time with her family, as well as her extended family and close friends. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren; she also shared a close bond with her siblings. Beverly cherished family visits and enjoyed cooking for them. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend; she will be missed by all who loved her. Beverly is survived by her loving children, Susan (Michael) Rapp, Robert (Kaye Adams) Skingley, Barbara Smith, and Amy (Jeffery) McIntosh; her sister Sue (Dick) Miller; her grandchildren, Benjamin (Becky) Rapp, Emily (Rodney) Eddy, Melissa McIntosh, and John (Ashley) McIntosh; and her great grandchildren, Audrey, Sawyer, Carraig, Breccan, Lochlan, Jack, and Benjamin. She was preceded in death by her husband, her first husband Robert Skingley, Sr., her parents, 2 sisters, and 3 brothers. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Casterline Funeral Home, 122 W. Dunlap, Northville. Pastor Jonathan Wilkes from First Baptist Church of Northville will officiate the service. Ms. Burnette will be laid to rest at Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville.
